This Privacy Policy applies to Odyssey Software Solutions Limited (“Odyssey”), an immigration compliance platform for teams working across Africa that handles the entire immigration lifecycle of teams, thereby enabling organizations to focus on their core business with full visibility into the process.
We are committed to safeguarding the privacy and rights of all users in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and other relevant international data protection standards.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect personal data when users access or use our immigration compliance application.
1. Information We Collect
Odyssey may collect personal data which includes but not limited to identification information (e.g., full name, date of birth, nationality), contact information (e.g., phone number, email), travel and immigration details (e.g., passport data, visa category, travel history), uploaded documents (e.g., passport bio-page, invitation letters, certificates) and other non-personal data such as (device type, IP address, usage logs) and other compliance information as may be required.
2. How We Use Personal Information
Odyssey uses personal data to facilitate visa applications and immigration compliance processes, validate the authenticity of uploaded documents, communicate updates, provide customer support, improve App functionality and user experience, and comply with immigration laws and regulatory obligations while preventing fraud, unauthorized access, or misuse.
3. Legal Basis for Processing
We process data in accordance with user consent, contractual necessity, regulatory obligations, and legitimate interests.
4. Information Sharing and Disclosure
To the extent permitted by law, we may share personal information with government agencies and immigration authorities as necessary to provide our services. We do not sell or rent personal information to third parties. Odyssey may also disclose personal information in response to legal processes, to protect our rights, or as otherwise required by law.
5. Email Preferences & Opt-Out Rights
We may send you emails relating to your use of our services, including updates, notifications, and promotional content where permitted. You have the right to opt in and out of receiving marketing or promotional emails at any time by clicking the “subscribe” or “unsubscribe” feature on the platform or link in any such email. Please note that you may continue to receive essential administrative or transactional communications necessary for the provision of our services, even after opting out of marketing emails.
6. Data Security and Retention
Odyssey employs industry-standard security measures to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, and alteration by implementing technical safeguards such as encryption of documents and sensitive data, multi-factor authentication, secure cloud infrastructure, and restricted access. Although we do our best, no system is completely secure, and users are encouraged to protect their login details.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil immigration, regulatory, and operational purposes or as required by law. After this period, data will be securely deleted or anonymized.
8. Your Rights as a Data Owner & User
In line with the NDPA and NDPR, users have the right to access their personal data, request correction or deletion, withdraw consent, object to processing, request data portability, and lodge complaints with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).
9. Cross-Border Data Transfers
Where data needs to be transferred outside Nigeria, it will be done in compliance with the approved safeguards, such as adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses, and additional security protocols.
10. Updates to this Privacy Policy
Odyssey may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our data practices. We will notify users of any material changes to this Privacy Policy by posting the new policy on our website or by other means.
